Today is the day you’ve been waiting for, The Superfun Beignet and Coffee Stand, located at The Courtyard Shops at Riverwalk, is now officially open for business! The New Orleans eatery has been waiting for this moment and is glad to share it with you all.
Previously, the popular spot was located on the side of a shop and functioned as a BYOB pop-up, handing out beignets to the neighborhood for small donations of loose change and paper clips. But it is now transitioning to a permanent staple in the area thanks to some renovation and upgrades, allowing patrons to touch and smell the sweet beignets before buying, alongside their coffee and coffee-centric treats. To the owner, Lorelle Achterberg, this "hands-on" approach is what separates her shop from the herd. Guests are encouraged to handle as many confections as possible during a visit, giving her treats an earthy French Quarter flavor.
However, before you get to the grand opening, be sure to make your way over to The Courtyard Shops at Riverwalk to sit back, relax and enjoy some of the new content and activations, including Punch Bowl Social pop-up, fresh juice bar from Retro Juices, Gourmet Garden Tours, a fashion show and more.
And, because you really can’t go wrong with A+ seafood (Gulf shrimp with corn and butter flake glaze; Gulf shrimp tacos with cabbage slaw, wasabi Gulf shrimp aioli and avocado pico de gallo; and fresh Gulf shrimp chowder with coconut Gulf shrimp) and beignets, check out some of the bold specialties being served at this fine family-owned restaurant and just like its surroundings, they are sure to wow your taste buds.
To get there, hop on your segway and journey over to Riverwalk where you’ll find The Superfun Beignet and Coffee Stand. They're celebrating their grand opening with special events all week, from Monday to Friday from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.
