5 Star Reviews

"Jackson was wonderful, would absolutely take a tour with him again if given the chance. His personality made the tour, he clearly knew a lot of history about the city and came prepared with exact dates and pictures...He paid attention to the dynamic and personality of our group and wanted to customize a tour based on our interests, something no other tour has done for us. Honestly speaking he clearly has a passion for the city and it's history and doesn't easily fall for farfetched rumors and gimmicks but can tell a very interesting story while incorporating what is believed to be, from what we know to be true. He is clearly a great story teller with a passion for factual history, which made this tour, for us, the highlight of our trip"

Part One: The Heart of the Old City

About 50 Minutes

We'll start overlooking St. Louis cathedral and Jackson Square, once the historic Places d'Armes, the heart of our early French colony. Hear of the adventurous figures who founded New Orleans -- such as Governor Bienville, who fought naked, covered in tribal snake tattoos, and underwent psychedelic rituals with the locals. See famous sites like St. Louis Cathedral, the Cabildo, The Presbytere, Preservation Hall, The Pharmacy Museum, Bourbon St., and Napoleon house, where Frenchmen plotted to rescue the famous Emperor from exile. See the oldest restaurant in New Orleans, and the apothecary where the first cocktail was invented.
